Now before my usual Okie speech, I'd like to apologize for spelling Serena's teacher's name wrong in the prologue. I know her name is Ms. Haruna, but somethin' messed up. No hard fellin's? With the prologue out of the way, I'ma reveal a lot of stuff in this chapter, and Russell's gonna get lots of parts again. Y'all will love it. Here's my usual... ...Disclaimer: Sailor Moon and most of the characters ain't mine. They belong to Naoko Takeuchi, and I thank that woman for creating such great entertainment. The English dub belongs to DiC Entertainment, and I thank them for bringing' it to America. Good news, I hear that DiC's dubbin' the third season, yeehah! Anyways, Russell Hino, Hino Kyodai, Tuxedo Inferno, and all his other identities are MINE (in a deep, dark, growling voice). Titanius is also mine. So, please don't sue me. Well, y'all enjoy this fanfic and e-mail me. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Wildfire By Viper Inferno Chapter 1 "You're a great dancer," A girl whispers into Russell's ear. "Thank you," he responds, " My sister and I have been practicing for years." "I can tell," she comments. They continue on through the rest of an oceanic song. The ocean sounds stop as the special music band takes charge and prepares for another oceanic song. The synthesizers play a romantic rhythm while the strings band plays background music. The girl removes her head from Russell's shoulder, looks into his eyes, and wraps both arms over his shoulders. They dance to the captivating song with pure passion and emotion. She notices the fire in Russell's eyes. After the song, she puts her hand on Russell's cheek. "Thank you Russell," she says with a sparkle in her eyes. Russell grabs her hand and holds it in his own, "My pleasure." She lets go and walks towards another girl, "Bye Russell." Russell smiles and walks through the dining hall towards the open balcony. The scene transfers to the balcony of a beautiful palace, overlooking a vast pond, glistening in the Earth's light. The same girl walks out onto the balcony and right next to Russell. "Nice night, isn't it." "Yeah," Russell responds, "So many stars, billions of miles away. It's wonderful how massive balls of fire could make the night sky look so beautiful from such a distance." "But, up close, it is just a burning mass of hydrogen and various other gases that gives life to all," she adds. "I heard from my friend that the moon is a captivating site from Earth. With the water sparkling in the moonlight," says Russell. "The Earth makes a beautiful site from here. The waters glisten it its light too," she says. Russell looks into her beautiful baby-blue eyes and sees the very sparkle he saw after their dance, "The Earth makes your eyes glisten beautifully." She advances slowly towards him, seeing the same fire in his eyes. Russell leans close to her, "More beautifully than my friend described the Moon," he softly and deeply says, then gently kisses her on the lips. She looks into his eyes, feeling the intense flames, "And the fires of the sky burn beautifully in your eyes." She wraps her arms around the tops of his shoulders and kisses him with passionate love. He takes the rose his sister gave him, knowing it was for a special girl he'd find at the ball, and puts it in the girl's hair. The sound of an alarm clock ends the scene. Russell wakes up in his hotel room with his Physics classmate in the other bed. "Same dream again, Russell," he asks him. "Yeah, she's out there somewhere," Russell replies, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. "You'll find her Russell, don't worry," says his classmate, "C'mon, lets get some breakfast before the seminar." Russell gets up out of bed and opens his suitcase, finding out what to wear. Negaverse Headquarters... After Titanius' battle with the Sailor Scouts yesterday, he completes his data analysis and walks to Queen Beryl's throne room, where all the other generals are standing. "Heard you failed to destroy the Mars Prince, again," says Queen Beryl, "And after you had carried out what would've been a flawless plan." "With all due respect, Your Highness, defeating the Mars Prince was not part of my master plan," Titanius defends, "Everything yesterday, including the battle and its outcome, went as planned." "What are you trying to say, Titanius?" Beryl challenges. "Yeah, Titanius," Jedite adds. "Enlighten us," Zoicyte also adds. "Tell us what you really have planned," Malachite finishes. "My mission this whole week was to lure the Mars Prince and study him," Titanius explains. "Studying is not good enough, Titanius," Beryl yells, "You won't get your pay until the Mars Prince is exterminated. Clear?" "Clear, but I did some planning last night after analyzing the data," says Titanius. "And what have you come up with?" Beryl asks. "The scouts still don't trust him very much, especially that pyromaniac Sailor Mars and that muscle-head Sailor Jupiter. Tuxedo Mask doesn't trust him much either. Only Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury have any trust in him," Titanius presents. "What are you trying to get at?" Beryl badgers. "He's a powerful warrior and the Sailor Scouts don't trust him. He could make a powerful ally," says Titanius, cutting to the chase. "The Mars Prince, working for us," Beryl says, pondering. "Your Highness, I love that plan," says Malachite. "Titanius, you're a genius," Nephrite complements. "I like your strategy, Titanius. And I like your plan. Your mission is to capture the Mars Prince and bring him here. I'll make him ours myself," Beryl orders. "It'll have to be between me and him. The Sailor Scouts will get suspicious if they get involved. I'll have to lure just him," says Titanius as he turns and leaves the room. "The Mars Prince, one of ours. That'll be a glorious day for the Negaverse," says Beryl, "With the Mars Prince on our side, those pesky Sailor Scouts are a good as dead." She fills the entire hall with her evil laugh. At the temple... Raye opens the door to let Amy and Mina inside. As she closes the door, a white streak flies through the door, narrowly missing getting locked out or even getting hit by the door. "Where's Lita and Serena?" Raye asks. "They're somewhere?" Mina responds. "Hope Meatball-Head's not late again," Raye sarcastically comments. Serena and Lita walk in just as Raye makes the comment, with Luna in Serena's arms. "Speak of the devil," Raye comments, "If being late wasn't bad enough, you had to go off dragging poor Lita into it as well." "Jeez Raye, you never give up, do you," Serena argues. "If you're gonna be late, don't drag us into it," Raye fights back. "But, you're my friends, I would never do that," Serena pouts. "You're such a Meatball Head," Raye slanders, "You're never on time for anything." "Why are you always so mean to me," Serena whimpers as she begins wailing. "Serena, don't let her get to you," Lita says, then turns to Raye, "Raye, she's got a point you know." They all take a seat as Luna jumps up on the table to discuss the earlier battle. "Today was filled with the strangest of events," Luna prompts. "I can't believe Mr. Titus was Titanius," Serena states. "And that he managed to secretly rig the entire school by himself," Amy adds. "He's seems to be a expert strategist," Luna rationalizes, "He's one of the Negaverse's most powerful warriors. Especially since they're paying him to rid the universe of you. That seems to make him even more ambitious, and more dangerous." "His also has his own youmas," says Lita, "and very powerful ones too." "He's our primary threat right now," Raye jumps in, "Any we need to keep on the look out for him." "It's odd," Serena wonders, "We were able to easily defeat him since I destroyed his laser thingie, but now he's much more powerful." "He probably spent all that time training," says Artemis. "And Tuxedo Inferno," Mina brings up, "What about him?" "He seems to be on our side," says Serena. "He once again helped us out in battle," says Amy. "But he and Titanius seemed to be very interested in each other," says Raye, "It's like Titanius laid off of us to go after him." "I still don't trust him," Lita suspiciously says, "He and Titanius could be playing some kind of trick on us, studying us." "I don't trust him much either," Raye adds, "It's not the ruse, but it's the fact that neither we, nor Tuxedo Mask know who he is." "He is kinda cute," Mina states, trying to look on the bright side, "and he's such a great fighter." Luna clears her throat, getting the Scouts' attention. "I personally don't know whether to trust Tuxedo Inferno or not. But I can say that Titanius is not a force to be reckoned with. I suggest you keep your communicators and pins handy. Be careful Sailor Scouts." The girls get up, take the cats, and walk towards the front door. Amy stays on the couch after arranging to spend a little time studying with her friend. "Good bye, Serena. Have a good time," Amy says, waving at Serena. She turns back to Raye, "So Raye, what do want to do?" "I thought you were gonna study," Raye questions. "I don't really have anything to study for," says Amy, "so I have a free weekend, if Titanius doesn't get his way." "I know what you mean there," Raye agrees, walking over to her room. Amy follows her inside, admiring Raye's Shinto décor. Raye takes a seat on her bed while Amy pulls up a chair. "Raye, you never told me you had a brother." "Like I said when I first introduced him to you and the gang, he moved with Uncle Edgar and Aunt Rosemary before I ever met you." "Did he ever call?" Amy curiously asks. "He called often," Raye replies, "He moved back in the day before he met you girls." "I noticed all his trophies in the living room," says Amy. "Yeah, I built the display case and put them there," says Raye as she gets up from her bed, "C'mon, I'll show you." They walk out of Raye's room and walk over to the display case, filled with nearly every soccer trophy and every academic trophy and award that he has ever won. Amy admires the many soccer trophies from the time Russell was a kid. She recognizes the one he won at Crossroads Jr. High since they look similar to the ones displayed at the school. She even notices his individual achievement and State Championship trophies. What really catches her eye are his entire collection of academic awards and trophies. Many of them are 1st place trophies and scholar athlete awards. "Wow, your brother was both smart and athletic," says Amy with a little admiration. "He still is," says Raye as she walks toward Russell's room, "Come, there's more." They walk into Russell's fairly clean room. His walls are littered with soccer posters, a couple Sailor V posters, school spirit stuff from high school, and his somewhat messy desk. Amy notices his cap & gown with his Salutatorian stole as Raye pulls out Russell's high school yearbooks. She opens his yearbook from his junior year. She turns to the massive soccer pages, "See, state champions. I have the ring from his second state championship." She pulls the other yearbook out and shows Amy all the organizations and sports Russell was involved in. "Class president, Who's Who Among Japanese High School Students, National Scholar, and the class Salutatorian. He was a true Renaissance man," says Amy in amazement, "You must be really proud of Russell." "I kept track of his progress after he moved away," says Raye. After admiring Russell's early years, Raye and Amy put his yearbooks away and walk back into Raye's room to carry out some girl talk. After about an hour of girl talk, Amy's communicator goes off. Amy and Raye both grab their communicators. "Amy, Raye, Luna here. There is a disturbance at the park; it seems the Negaverse has sent a youma to terrorize the people. Titanius could be behind this, so I'm going with you. Luna out." "Titanius again?" Raye comments, "He just doesn't know when to quit." "Let's go," Amy says as they pull out their pins. "Mercury, Power!" "Mars, Power!" Sailor Mars and Sailor Mercury bolt towards the park, preparing themselves for anything. They arrive at the park to see Sailor Moon already in battle with the giant crab-like youma. "I am Sailor Mercury!" "And I am Sailor Mars! We won't let you cause destruction and chaos." "Am I glad to see you guys," says Sailor Moon at the sound of her friends' voices. "Where's Luna?" Sailor Mercury asks. "Over there by the tree," Sailor Moon says as she points over to a nearby sycamore tree where Luna watches on. Sailor Mars jumps in the way of the youma's oversized pincer as it lunges towards Sailor Moon. The youma grabs her and begins squeezing. It doesn't phase the pyromaniac, for she engulfs her hands in flames and burns the pincer, causing it to release her. Sailor Mercury studies it with her minicomputer, "As with any crab-like youma, this one is a water type. It tends to find refuge in rivers, lakes, and even oceans. Thunder is its weakness, though I've found fried king crab to be an excellent dish myself." "Thank you Amy," Raye says sarcastically, "I always knew my powers would be good for cooking." "Can I eat it after we kill it?" Sailor Moon ecstatically asks. "All you ever think about is food," Sailor Mars criticizes. Suddenly, a beam of light smashes the youma, sending it into the lake. Sailor Venus and Sailor Jupiter arrive on the scene. They all watch the lake where the youma ended up splashing into. "I wonder if I defeated it," says Sailor Venus. "I doubt it," Sailor Mercury replies, "It thrives in the water." Sailor Jupiter steps in front of the scouts. "If it's in the water, then I'll just have to flush it out with a little jolt," she says as an antenna pops out of her tiara, "Jupiter Thunder, CRASH!" She sends bolts of lightning into the lake, electrocuting everything in it, including the youma. It flies out of the water, landing a hundred feet behind the scouts. The youma staggers up as Sailor Jupiter dashes over to it. She grabs one of its pincers and swings it around a bit. She releases it, sending it into the sycamore tree where Luna watches on. She bolts away from the flying youma just before it connects with the tree. "Sailor Jupiter, would be so kind as to watch where you are throwing." "Sorry Luna, didn't know you were over there," Sailor Jupiter says as beads of sweat drip from her forehead. "My tiara will be enough to finish it off," says Sailor Moon as she removes her tiara, "Moon Tiara, Magic!" She sends her tiara at the fallen youma, hitting it in the face and utterly destroying it. "Fried crab, on the house," Sailor Moon yells to her friends, "Who wants a leg?" "Sailor Moon, would you stop thinking about food and concentrate on the matter at hand," Sailor Mars demands, "Luna, why did the gluttonous Meatball Head have to be the leader? Why not me?" "Because I'm Sailor Moon," Sailor Moon cuts in, "champion of love and justice." "Yeah right, you're the champion of eating and crying," Sailor Mars argues. "Am not," Sailor Moon argues back. "Are too," Sailor Mars recovers. "Am NOT." "Are TOO." "Girls, stop it right this instant," Luna sharply orders. Both girls' heads drop. "Yes Luna," they say in unison. "This youma was easy to defeat," says Sailor Venus. "Yeah," Sailor Jupiter agrees, "a little too easy. Why would the Negaverse send in such a weak youma?" "Who knows, maybe somebody over there lost a few screws," Sailor Mercury answers. "Well, it's getting late," says Sailor Mars, noticing the sun setting in the west, reflecting of the lake, "I'd better be getting home." Sailor Mars jumps in a tree and jumps out of sight. "Stay alert Sailor Scouts," Luna yells as the rest of the girls head home. Negaverse Headquarters... Queen Beryl growls at the sight of the crab-like youma being easily defeated. "Titanius, get over here. Now!" she yells. Titanius and Malachite walk in, arguing with one another. "Excuse me, guys," she says, trying to get his attention. Titanius' and Malachite's arguing just gets louder as they get closer. "HEY!" she yells, causing most of the throne room to shake. Titanius and Malachite look at her, pale as a ghost. "Yes, Your Highness," they gasp. "How could you send such a weak youma," Beryl says in disappointment, "That youma would've been better off on a fryer than in battle." "With all due respect, Your Highness, my intention was to lure Tuxedo Inferno for me to nab him, not to destroy him," Titanius explains. "You failed your objective you pathetic excuse for a bounty hunter," says Beryl. "My apologies Queen Beryl," says Titanius, "Luring Tuxedo Inferno alone is pure luck." "Not exactly," Malachite jumps in, with a light bulb clicking on in his head, "Before we hired Titanius, I use to send soldiers out. Often I would attract just the Mars Prince, or Tuxedo Inferno as he calls himself. Even Zoicyte attracted him alone." "I think I see where you're going," says Titanius with certainty. "I say we send in a soldier," Malachite suggests. "But how does that attract Tuxedo Inferno?" Titanius questions. "He seems to have some 6th sense, like he senses when we're near," says Malachite, "Especially with his connection with that pyromaniac as you observed. Putting her in great danger almost guarantees an appearance by Tuxedo Inferno." "But that is not the objective," says Queen Beryl, "I like do your idea about attracting just Tuxedo Inferno. Titanius, Malachite, send in a soldier." "You got Your Highness," Malachite replies. "We'll send in two, in succession of one another so we can take him when he's weak," Titanius adds. "Very well, Titanius. Carry on," Beryl orders. "Yes, ma'am," Titanius and Malachite say in unison as they salute her in a British fashion and leave. "With their ingenious plan, the Mars Prince will be as good as ours in no time," says Beryl as she laughs maniacally throughout the throne room. Physics field trip, the next day... After a long seminar, Russell walks with the rest of the group on their way to begin on a Physics assignment. He turns to his hotel roommate, "That seminar was just to dang long." "I'm with 'ya there, Russ," his roommate adds, "I almost fell asleep numerous times." "I love Physics, and the concept of electromagnetic induction is just captivating to even talented minds, but I couldn't even sit through that whole seminar. They should've given us more demonstrations," Russell intelligently says. "That explains your squirming every five minutes throughout the second half," his roommate points out. "Anyway, isn't this field trip gonna hurt your position on the soccer team?" "Nope, our first game isn't 'til next Saturday. Coach will let me start if I attend practice everyday next week," Russell replies. "It's good to have a coach who encourages academics over athletics," says his roommate. "He doesn't show it on the field nor before games, but he will excuse you from practices for academic purposes," Russell explains. They progress on further, talking about his roommate's classes, and then they go back to Russell's. His roommate's eyes enlarge at the sound of one of Russell's honors classes, "Particle Physics!? You're taking Particle Physics next semester!?" "Actually, it's one of the sophomore classes," Russell corrects, "My Physics level upon graduating from high school was very high. So my advisor placed me in an extra class for this year. I plan on taking Honors Astrophysics II and Quantum Physics next year." "Jeez Russell, all those tough classes, and you're in soccer!?" his roommate says in shock. "I'm majoring in Physics," says Russell, "I gotta take everything you know." As they continue to walk along, Russell gets an odd sense. This one is more of a presence than of someone in danger. 'Evil is near,' he thinks to himself, 'getting stronger.' He slowly backs off inconspicuously towards the back of the group. 'Man, I can't transform here. I can't find any place to transform.' Minutes later, fortune comes to Russell as he spots a blind alley. He quietly, but swiftly ducks and slips in the alley and raises it in the air. His obsidian jewel ring glows as he changes into Tuxedo Inferno. He jumps on top of the 50-foot-tall building and watches as his Physics class walks away. "Sorry to bail out on you guys, but evil is near and I must leave," he says under his breath to the now distant class. He turns back and jumps off like a scared frog. It's a long trip, but Tuxedo Inferno makes it to an open field outside of Tokyo where the evil presence feels stronger. 'Nothing here,' he thinks to himself before calling out, "Alright, show yourself." Tuxedo Inferno waits rather impatiently before darting off towards a large tree to hide in. As he nears the tree, a dark knight in black and purple armor jumps out of the tree and right in front of Tuxedo Inferno, stopping him dead in his tracks. "So you've arrived Tuxedo Inferno," the soldier taunts. "Dang right I'm Tuxedo Inferno, warrior of fire and protector of good. On behalf of the planet Mars, I will BURN you," Tuxedo Inferno responds. The soldier immediately blasts Tuxedo Inferno with a pulse of dark energy, sending him flying into another nearby tree. As Tuxedo Inferno slides down the trunk towards the ground, the soldier launches a ball of energy at him, snapping the tree's trunk like a twig and giving Tuxedo Inferno his frequent flyer miles. "I should've hit him when he hit the ground," the soldier says to himself, disappointed, "Now Queen Beryl won't get herself another warrior." Suddenly, a beam of fire drills out of the sky and into the chest of the soldier, auguring him in the ground. Tuxedo Inferno drops out of the sky, makes a perfect 10.0 landing, and walks over to the hole where the soldier struggles to get up. "Surprised I can take such a thrashing," Tuxedo Inferno says to the soldier. "Not really," the Soldier says as he quickly recovers and leaps out of the hole. Tuxedo Inferno draws his flame sword from his obsidian jewel ring. The soldier fires an energy beam, knocking Tuxedo Inferno's sword from his hand. Before Tuxedo Inferno could try another attack, the soldier sends him surfing on a wave of dark energy and into a parked big rig. Tuxedo Inferno slowly recovers, only to have the soldier's foot sending him flying over the trailer of the big rig. "It's good," the soldier jokes as he raises his arms. Tuxedo Inferno gets back to his feet and hops in the cab from the passenger side. He turns the engine on and backs the truck up. He then turns toward where the soldier knocked his sword away and guns it. The soldier leaps out of the way, landing on top of the trailer. As Tuxedo Inferno nears his destination, the soldier hops down on the hood and in front of the windshield. Just as the soldier draws his fist back to smash the glass, Tuxedo Inferno slams on the brakes, sending him flying off the hood and rolling on the grassy field. Tuxedo Inferno jumps out and retrieves his sword, then walks over to the fallen soldier. "Game Over, Nega-Creep," Tuxedo Inferno says as he raises his sword, gathering fire in its blade. "Flame Sword, STRIKE!" He swings his sword with every ounce of physical strength at the soldier, causing him to disintegrate in a flash of fire. Exhausted, he sheathes his sword and walks back in the direction from which he entered the battlefield. Suddenly, another soldier teleports right in front of him. Tuxedo Inferno jumps back, "Oh no, not another one." "Yes, another one," the soldier replies, "Queen Beryl will be most pleased to see you." "In your dreams," Tuxedo Inferno says as he engulfs his hand in flames and thrusts at the soldier, knocking him back quite a ways. He waves his arms out to his sides, "Inferno..." sending a ball of fire floating above his head, "...Flame!" He waves his arm and the fireball flies at the soldier, burning the soldiers cape. "You insensitive prick," the soldier insults, "That was my favorite cape." The soldier sends a bolt of dark blue lightning surging through Tuxedo Inferno's already badly beaten body. Tuxedo Inferno falls to the ground, nearly unable to move. He comes to seconds later to see Titanius off in the distance. He immediately jumps up. Realizing he was fighting a second soldier, he looks around and spots him running towards his flank. He jumps out of the way and draws his flame sword. The soldier stops and waves his arm at him, throwing numerous knives in his direction. One knocks his sword from his hand, another knocks his hat from his head, and another slices through his cape as if it didn't exist. Tuxedo Inferno runs toward the soldier to engage in hand-to-hand combat. The soldier responds to his challenge by stopping him with a fore field. Tuxedo Inferno slams into it with great force, almost knocking him unconscious. "That's it," says Tuxedo Inferno as he does a few kung fu moves, "Inferno Fire, Dance!" He swiftly dances around the soldier, setting him ablaze. With very little energy left and breathing heavily, Tuxedo Inferno drops to his knees. Suddenly, a beam of dark energy pierces the soldier's body, causing him to dissolve into ashes. "I've had it with your games, enough already," Titanius says to the fallen soldier, walking toward Tuxedo Inferno. Tuxedo Inferno takes a look at him, only to get zapped in the face by dark lightning. "Come now Tuxedo Inferno, we wouldn't want to keep Queen Beryl waiting. She can be an awful witch when things don't go her way." Titanius grabs a hold of Tuxedo Inferno's limp body and throws a smoke bomb. When it clears, both men are nowhere to be seen. Negaverse Headquarters... Tuxedo Inferno comes to, only to find himself in some odd-looking chamber and in chains. "I see you've come too," the voice of Titanius fills the chamber, "Welcome, Tuxedo Inferno, to my private torture chamber, my second favorite place here." "And where's your favorite? Up Beryl's ass kissing it?" Tuxedo Inferno says sarcastically. "Your humor doesn't impress me any," says Titanius, "Queen Beryl will definitely not find your humor amusing, until she gets through with you." "What kind of trick are you playing, Titanius," Tuxedo Inferno says, pulling on his chains. "You'll see when Queen Beryl arrives," Titanius gladly answers. Just as he finishes the sentence, the door flies open as Queen Beryl barges in. The only smiles when she sees that Titanius had brought in the Mars Prince as a 'special guest'. "Ah yes, the great Tuxedo Inferno, in person. I've been looking forward to meeting you," she says in a slightly seductive voice. She turns to Titanius to see him still there, "You're dismissed Titanius. The Mars Prince and I have some... issues... to discuss." "What about my pay," Titanius challenges. "You'll get your bounty Titanius, as soon as I'm finished here," Beryl sharply answers. "Yes, Your Highness," Titanius relies as he leaves the chamber. She then turns back to Tuxedo Inferno, "You know why you're here in my custody, don't you Tuxedo Inferno." "Obviously, you're keeping me as your prisoner," Tuxedo Inferno replies, "And besides, I thought you wanted the Sailor Scouts." "Wrong there my pyromaniac," Beryl contradicts, "But you are right about my interest in the Sailor Scouts. And that's why I've brought you here." Beryl paces about the room, thinking back to past events as she says them, "I've been watching you fight alongside the Sailor Scouts. It seems that they don't trust you." "That's not exactly true," says Tuxedo Inferno. Beryl swiftly turns and gets near his face, "Tell me Tuxedo Inferno, of all the times you battled with them, trying to be a Good Samaritan. " "Of course I help those in danger, including the legendary Sailor Scouts," Tuxedo Inferno replies. "You defeated my youmas, my soldiers, even my bounty hunter," says Beryl. "I merely assisted the Sailor Scouts in defeating them," says Tuxedo Inferno. "And they never thanked you once for it," Beryl says as she turns her back to him. "Actually, they have," he corrects. Beryl swiftly turns and yells in his face, "LIAR!" Tuxedo Inferno proudly looks her in the eye. "They may have thanked you for using your great powers to help them, but under that cloak, there's a dagger. They will never trust you as long as they don't know you." "Oh, and I suppose you know who I am," Tuxedo Inferno says sarcastically. "Actually, I know you're of the planet Mars. But in time you will find out who you are," Beryl says. "What do you mean," Tuxedo Inferno asks. "I mean that you are here to serve me in ridding us of those Sailor Scouts," Beryl answers. "I will never serve you," Tuxedo Inferno growls. "LIAR, you know they don't trust you. You know they'll never accept your superior abilities. And you know that they just use you make them look good. Now tell me, does that make you furious?" says Beryl. Tuxedo Inferno feels the fires within him burning throughout his body at the sound of the Sailor Scouts not trusting him. Deep down inside, he feels empty and unaccepted because he's a superhero with no known origin. Beryl has hit him hard. "A little, but its all lies." "Then you'll be a great asset to this Negaverse," says Beryl, a little more calmly. "I will never help you. Not in destroying the Sailor Scouts," Tuxedo Inferno growls. Beryl only lowers her eyebrows at him. "Oh, you will. Trust me, you will serve me," she says in a deep voice as she zaps Tuxedo Inferno with lightning. She then begins probing his mind with her evil powers. "I know you have some feelings against the Sailor Scouts. Let's strengthen those feelings, shall we," she says. Tuxedo Inferno falls unconscious for a second, then awakes to see Sailor Jupiter like he has never seen her before. She's wearing a black and green sailor suit with dark gray hosiery on her legs and arms. She also wears this evil grin as she looks down on him. She waves her arms, laughing profusely, and fires bolts of lightning at him. The scene then changes to the blonde-haired Sailor Venus, with more of a Gothic look. She wears a black bow in her hair, black eye shadow, black lipstick, black fingernail polish, and pale face makeup. She bears deadly torture devices and a cat-o-nine-tails. She walks towards him with a dentist's drill in her hand. "Is it safe," she says maniacally, laughing with pure insanity. The scene again changes. This time he sees Sailor Mars dressed in a black cloak, with fire completely surrounding the environment around them. She laughs with much pleasure as she releases demons and monsters at him. The monsters surround him as Sailor Mars walks up to him with her hair flowing back in the wind and an evil grin on her face. "Listen to the fires," she says like a soothsayer, "Do you know what they tell you, hmm? They're saying YOU'RE TOAST. HA HA HA HAH HAAAAAAHHHH!" She laughs at him maniacally as the scene changes again. This time he lies on a bed with a large light in his face. In the background, he hears a heart monitor beeping. He knows he's in a hospital bed, in an operating room. He looks around to see Sailor Mercury dressed as a surgeon and holding a scalpel. "I know I'm not a surgeon," she says modestly, then changes her tone, "but I am today. And today's operation, frontal lobotomy, Mua Ha Hah HAAAHHHH." she says showing pleasure in her insanity as she lowers the scalpel towards his sweating forehead. The scene changes again. Now he stands tied to a stake. Sailor Moon stands and watches. She's dressed in a black robe, is holding a whip in one hand, and a torch in the other. She looks at him, with her eyes glowing a bright red, and whips him a dozen times, striking devastating pain. She then walks up to him, "I will right wrongs and triumph over evil, and that means YOU." She sets the brush under him ablaze as she laughs profusely and maniacally, "Ha Hah HAAHH, burn in your own fire." Tuxedo Inferno screams in bloody horror. Soon, the fires go out and Sailor Moon's image changes into Queen Beryl's. "You see Tuxedo Inferno, they'll never trust you. They're just ticking time bombs waiting to go off. They're nothing but a Pandora's box to you. They are a force to dealt with." Tuxedo Inferno falls unconscious, with the hallucination fresh in his mind. He wakes up a half-hour later with an odd look in his face. Beryl stands up and summons evil energy. "Now Tuxedo Inferno, with the right motive in place, I will make you mine," she says as she sends the energy surging through Tuxedo Inferno's body. After it stops, Tuxedo Inferno looks up a Queen Beryl, then at himself as she releases his chains. He definitely looks a little different. His tuxedo is lined with much black. He bears an upside-down black crescent on his forehead, and his bow tie is replaced with a black moon. He takes a look at his obsidian jewel ring to see that it bears a gold crescent moon with a skull on it. He then looks back at Beryl, "Those Sailor Scouts are as good as mine." "Ha ha HA, Perfect. Now that I have you under my control, let's see what you can do with all that energy of yours. Follow me," says Beryl as she walks out of the room with Tuxedo Inferno following. They walk down the halls and to a mechanical-looking door. Beryl opens the door and they walk inside to see a large band of soldiers. "Alright you bunch of good for nothings," Beryl says, getting their attention, "Your mission is to attack Tuxedo Inferno here with all your might." All 30 soldiers immediately jump up, some drawing their swords. She whispers into his ear, her voice still being made out, "Alright, take them out." Tuxedo Inferno immediately brings his arm across his body, with his two fingers by his ear, "Inferno Blaze..." He then swings his arm, "...Wall!" sending a wall of fire rushing at the group of soldiers, knocking them all back. He then waves his arms around a bit, "Inferno Fire, DANCE!" He swiftly dances around half the soldiers, setting them ablaze and destroying a few of them. "Ha ha Hah, Yes, YES! That's it, burn 'em. Burn 'em all my little pyromaniac," Beryl says with much pleasure in watching him burn everything. Tuxedo Inferno draws his flame sword and finishes of the rest of the troops. "You fight well, Tuxedo Inferno. You have earned your place in the Negaverse. I expect you to do the same to those pesky Sailor Scouts," Beryl says. She walks out of the room with Tuxedo Inferno following her. They walk into the main throne room. She looks around to see that none of her generals are around. Only her bounty hunter stands near the throne. "Jedite, Nephrite, Zoicyte, Malachite, get your carcasses in here," Beryl angrily orders. They all run in 5 seconds later with beads of sweat dripping from their foreheads and breathing heavily. They regain their composure almost instantly. "We have ourselves a powerful new ally. You three have completed your task. You're no longer of any use to me," she says, pointing Jedite, Nephrite, and Zoicyte. The 3 generals look at her in shock and dispute. Beryl grabs a crystal and points it at Jedite, "Jedite, back to eternal sleep you go," she says as she fires energy at him. "NOOOOOO," he yells as he dematerializes and teleports inside the crystal. She then turns to Nephrite, "It's back to the grave for you, and let's not forget about showing you the human you loved when you last bit it." She walks over to her crystal ball and shows him a picture of Molly as the grim reaper appears behind him. He lays his hand on Nephrite's shoulder, and Nephrite falls dead instantly. Beryl then turns to Zoicyte, "And as for you, I'll just leave you to Titanius." "My pleasure," says Titanius as he charges for a devastating attack. Zoicyte turns to Malachite, "Do something, Malachite." "Sorry, your time here ended when you disobeyed Queen Beryl," Malachite says as Titanius blasts Zoicyte. "But I thought you loved maaeeeee," were Zoicyte's last words before he vaporizes. "Malachite, you're still of use to me. And as for you, Titanius," she says as she pulls out a bundle of money, "here's half your pay. I still could use a warrior like you. You're gonna assist Tuxedo Inferno in his conquest against the Sailor Scouts." "The honor is mine, Your Highness," Titanius gladly says. "Perfect! With Tuxedo Inferno on our side, and the great Titanius, That pretty little twit, Sailor Moon, and her pesky Sailor Scouts are as good as mine," Beryl says. All in the room, except Tuxedo Inferno, fill the halls with their evil laughter. Crown Game Video Arcade, the next day... Mina and Serena play each other in a grueling Sailor V game. Each tries to overcome one another's score, but end up killing themselves in the process, GAME OVER. "Wanna play again?" Mina asks. "Sure, I'm gonna beat you this time," Serena responds as she drops in another quarter. Mina drops hers in and presses the 2-player button. They start off, again trying to overcome one another. Mina comes up with an innovation, 'If I just hold out, and stop trying to overcome her, maybe I'll beat her," she thinks to herself. So Mina just goes along with the flow, hoping Serena will break and lose. Suddenly, to Mina's surprise, her innovation backfires and she ends up losing all her lives before Serena even loses one. "Oh, well. I'm jumpin' back in Serena," she says as she drops in another quarter before the countdown reaches zero. She joins back in and tries a little Sailor Scout team tactic. Both girls end up making it to Level 10 before both end up losing. "Great game, Mina," Serena praises. "Yes it was," Mina agrees, "Wanna go somewhere else?" "Sure. The park sounds great to me," Serena says as they walk towards the door. Suddenly, Darien comes into view right in front of Serena and bumps into her. "Oof! Hey, watch where you're going, Meatball Head," he says sharply. "Oh yeah," Serena challenges, "You were the one who ran into me." "Serena, he's not worth it," Mina says as she lightly pulls the furious Serena away from Darien, who walks inside the arcade. She turns back to Mina, "Ohhh, why does he always have to be such a bully?" "C'mon Serena, forget about him and let's go to the park," says Mina as she and Serena walk towards the park. Suddenly, their communicators go off. Serena gets to hers first, "Yes Luna." "'Fraid not, wrong cat." It was Artemis. "There's an unusual event going on near downtown. Go investigate." "You got it," Serena responds as she and Mina run in an alleyway. "Venus Power!" "Moon Prism, Power!" They transform into Sailors Moon and Venus. They jump up onto the roof of a building and make their way downtown. They arrive in a matter of minutes, athletic little Sailor Scouts, and hide behind a wall overlooking the streets below. They look around to see a single soldier totaling cars and firing energy at police cars. They look down the street nearby to see a familiar sight. "Not Titanius again," says Sailor Moon. They both make the long jump down onto the street and right near the soldier, hardly paying any attention to Titanius. "Hold it right there," Sailor Moon demands. "I am Sailor Venus," says Sailor Venus. "And I am Sailor Moon," Sailor Moon adds. "We are champions of love and justice," they say together. "I will right wrongs and triumph over evil, and that means you," says Sailor Moon, pointing at the soldier. The other scouts run right behind her. Sailor Moon turns to greet them as Sailor Venus takes it to the soldier, "Oh, you're here." "Sailor Moon, stop lollygaging and attack that soldier," Sailor Mars yells as she launches herself in the air, landing behind the soldier. "Ha, you're no pushover," says Sailor Moon as she grabs her wand and aims at the soldier. She fires a beam of light, boring right through the soldier and destroying him in a matter of seconds. The Scouts hear slow clapping as Titanius walks toward them, sarcastically praising their efforts, "Very good, Sailor Scouts. Now you get to meet my four horsemen." He unleashes four dark knights on horseback at the Scouts. They charge at them, swinging their flails, ready to smash the Scouts. "I've got them," says Sailor Mars as she clasps her hands together. "Mars Fire, Ignite!" She sends fire at the soldiers, burning two of them and missing the other two. One of them kicks her back while the other sends her flying with his flail. Sailor Moon turns and launches her tiara at one of them. It misses the horseman as he turns and begins charging. Sailors Mercury and Jupiter notice Titanius looking back and giving some odd signal. Suddenly, a wave of fire blasts both horsemen, sending them back. All 4 horsemen look at the Scouts, but laugh at the scouts. They look towards the origin of the fire to see Tuxedo Inferno again, standing on top of a building. "It's Tuxedo Inferno," says Sailor Venus. "Yeah," says Sailor Mercury, doubtful, "but he looks different." She dons her visor and takes a look at him. Right before she gets a clean look at him, he jumps down to the street between them and Titanius. "I am Tuxedo Inferno, warrior of fire and advocate of darkness. On behalf of the planet Mars, I will BURN you," he says in a deep, dark voice. "I KNEW IT," Sailor Jupiter yells as she tackles him with bone crushing force. "I knew you were a Nega-Creep." "Wait a minute. I'm of the planet Mars too, but I don't know him," says Sailor Mars. "It doesn't matter, GET HIM," Sailor Jupiter yells. The scouts run towards him, but that doesn't phase Tuxedo Inferno. "Inferno Fire, Beam!" He fires a beam of fire in the street directly in front of the charging scouts, giving each of them their frequent flyer miles. Sailor Mercury flies through a window, Sailor Mars lands in a convertible with its top down, Sailor Venus lands in top of a light post, and Sailor Moon falls in an open manhole. Sailor Jupiter turns on him, "You hurt my friends, you betrayed us, now I'm gonna hurt you. Jupiter Thunder, CRASH!" She sends lightning slamming into his body, sending him through the wall of a building right next to Titanius. "Curse you," Titanius yells. Tuxedo Inferno struggles to emerge from the Inferno-shaped hole in the wall. "Come, Tuxedo Inferno. You'll get your chance another day," says Titanius as he throws a smoke bomb and disappears. The scouts emerge from where they landed and join Sailor Jupiter. Sailor Moon stands in awe, nearly coming to tears. "He turned on us," she gasps, "He helped us all those times, he was so great to us, and he turned on us." "You should've listened to me," says Sailor Jupiter, "As you see, it was all a ruse. He was just helping us out to study us so he could turn on us." "Somehow, he didn't seem to like what he was doing," says Sailor Moon. "I don't know how you can see that, but you can't prove it to me. He appeared to be enjoying it to me," Sailor Jupiter argues. "Let's go home," Sailor Mars suggests, "I'll do a fire reading and see what I can get." Disappointed, Sailor Moon walks with the others, knowing she was all wrong about Tuxedo Inferno. 'There's got to be something with him. He couldn't have turned on us. And I was actually beginning to trust him a little more,' she thinks to herself. Negaverse Headquarters... Titanius and Tuxedo Inferno arrive at the headquarters with great news for Queen Beryl. "Mission accomplished," says Titanius, "Tuxedo Inferno has stated his intentions to the Sailor Scouts." "Good, then we will soon begin on our other plans against the Sailor Scouts," says Beryl. She then turns to Tuxedo Inferno, "You are free to operate outside the headquarters. Use that 6th sense of yours and know when the Scouts show up." Tuxedo Inferno leaves the throne room and walks about the halls. "Is this what I was meant to be?" he asks himself as he makes his way towards the exit. "What if this isn't right? What if Queen Beryl is wrong?" He then thinks of his dream from days earlier, "I don't remember about being this in my dreams. Maybe I'm just going crazy, or maybe I'm not supposed to be of the Negaverse." He leaves the headquarters and teleports back to the hotel. He enters his room and plops down on the bed, thinking about the whole ordeal and wondering, 'What happens to me now? I have to live my life here.' ------------------------------end of chapter 1------------------------- Great, eh? Russell now becomes the villain after Beryl brainwashes him. It's only gonna get better as he plays the part of a villain. Actually, I've had this story plot in mind before I submitted my first fanfic, "Brother of Fire". I just had to take a few stories to work up to that point. I'm now working on Chapter 2 and will have it out for y'all as soon as I can get around final exams. Keep on readin', 'cause it gets even better. E-mail me with comments, a'ight. Have fun Sailor Moon fans, Viper Inferno
