"Aaagh, I'm late again!" Serena screams as she rounds the corner near the school, knowing Ms. Haruna's gonna slap detention on her again. "And I'm going with Mina and Amy to Dreamland too. I can't afford detention." She dashes through the front door and through the main hall on her way to her 1st hour class. She makes it to Ms. Haruna's class and tears through the door just before the bell rings. "Serena, you made it," says Ms. Haruna, "You ever thought about going out for track?" "Not really," Serena replies as she takes her seat. 'Good, at least I won't get detention.' "And now class," Ms. Haruna exclaims, getting the class', and Serena's, attention, "today's lesson, prime factorization." 'Oh no,' Serena thinks to herself as she pulls on her ponytails, nearly pulling the meatballs out, "I can't do prime factorization. That means I have homework today. Ohhh, I can't afford this. I hope the Negaverse leaves us alone today. I know, I can study with Amy during study hall, yes!' Serena tackles her assignment, knowing in her heart that her best friend will be there to bail her out of a potential nerve-wreaking situation with schoolwork. She turns to her classmate to her right and whispers, "Hey, Michelle. What's the answer to #13?" "14. Now will you do your own work," she answers quietly. "Humph, can't even get some descent answers to tough problems around here anymore," Serena whispers to herself. After an hour, the bell rings, relieving Serena of the burdens of overbearing math problems. Serena walks toward the door of the classroom, "Am I ever glad to be out of this mess," Serena thinks aloud. "Serena Tsukino," Ms. Haruna calls, preventing her from escaping the wrath of math, "May I see you for a minute please?" Serena slowly turns around and nervously walks over to her, 'What did I do? I was in class on time. Hope she doesn't jump me for anything.' "Serena, I'm proud to see that you finally made it to class on time," Ms. Haruna says. 'Whew, I thought she was gonna find a reason to slap me with detention," Serena thinks to herself. "And your grades are finally starting to go up. How are you achieving this?" says Ms. Haruna. "Uh, I spend time with one of my really smart friends," Serena answers. "Well, this is the best improvement I've seen in you yet. Keep it up, Serena," says Ms. Haruna. "Thank you," Serena says as she turns around and leaves the classroom. Lunch... Serena walks up next to the lonely Amy in the cafeteria. "Hi, Amy. Mind if I sit by 'ya?" she politely asks. "Sure, by all means," Amy answers. Serena proceeds to take her seat and scarf down her entire meal like a crazed elephant. "So, Amy. You want to help me with these prime factorization problems in study hall?" "Sure, Serena," Amy answers, "But you can't always rely on me to bail you out of trouble. You gotta learn something from all these times I help you." "Thank you Amy, you're the greatest," says Serena, "You know, sometimes I wish that Raye could throw her anti-evil scrolls at all these assignments and teachers and make school so much easier." "That's some wishful thinking, Serena, but I rather enjoy the challenges that teachers throw at me," says Amy. "Well, that's you," Serena responds, "So, how 'bout Dreamland since it's Friday?" "I think it'll get a lot off our minds," Amy replies, "Besides, who says I can't have fun every once in a while." "Is anyone else coming besides you, me, and Mina?" Serena asks. "Lita's gonna be busy most of the day and Raye's doing a fire reading," Amy explains, "Ever thought of bringing anyone with you?" Serena right then thinks about Darien, 'Oh, how I'd love to go to Dreamland with such a cute guy like Darien. I hope he remembers who he is so we can spend all this time together, and not insult each other so much...' "Serena," Amy says, trying to get her attention, "Are you taking anyone?" Serena snaps out of it, "I thought about this one guy, but I'm not taking anyone." "Who, Andrew or Darien?" Amy jokingly asks. Serena gives the giggling Amy a stern look, 'Uh Uh, don't go there sister.' "Sorry Serena, I just couldn't help myself," Amy says as she continues giggling. Soon, the bell rings, signaling the end of lunch. Amy and Serena get up and dispose of their lunch trays. "I'll see you in study hall, Amy," Serena says as she walks over to her next class. After School... Serena and Amy wait at the front gate of their school awaiting Mina's arrival from her school. Soon, their wait is worth while as Mina rounds the corner and approaches the two. "Hiya, Serena. Hiya, Amy," Mina greets, waving her hand as she skips to them. "Hi Mina," Serena replies, returning Mina's wave, "Ready to go?" "Sure, I left all my stuff in my locker," Mina replies. "Great! Dreamland, here we come," says Serena as the girls make their way in that direction. Dreamland... The trio makes it to the front gate of Dreamland, ready to have a good time. Amy gladly pays for the tickets with the money her mother was so generous as to let her use for the amusement park. "So, where should we go first?" Serena asks. "I say we ride the roller coasters, how I love thrills," Mina answers with enthusiasm. "I've thought about trying my luck at a few games, you know, win something for Mother," Amy says a little nervously. "Amy, you're not afraid of a harmless roller coaster, are you," Serena teases. "Of course not," Amy replies, "I've ridden a few roller coasters before. I was just suggesting a later activity. I agree with Mina about riding the roller coasters first." "Then off to the 'Runaway Train' we go," says Mina as the group heads over to a roller coaster. As they hop into the cars of the coaster, Serena notices a familiar face operating the ride. His long black hair and pine green eyes give Serena that sense of familiarity. 'Now where have I seen that face?' Serena thinks to herself as the man throws the switch to move the roller coaster around the corner and up that first hill. Everybody on the roller coaster reaches for the sky and screams as the roller coaster plummets down the steep incline to a mere inches from auguring in the ground. Amy laughs with pure enjoyment as the roller coaster whips her around throughout the entire ride. After the 80-second endurance test, the roller coaster stops at the exact point where it started, where that familiar face still stands operating the ride. The girls jump out of the roller coaster and make their way towards the exit. Serena turns to Amy and Mina after getting a comfortable distance between them and the familiar man. "Amy, Mina, did you see that guy who operated the ride?" Serena asks. "Yeah, he looks awfully cute," Mina says flirtatiously, thinking about how it would be to date a guy like him. "Not that," Serena says, snapping Mina out of her guy craziness, "I mean he looks awfully familiar. I've seen that face before." "I noticed he looked familiar," Amy agrees. "Then again, it's probably just me," says Serena, "C'mon, let's ride another roller coaster." They walk by 'Runaway Train' again on their way to the next ride. They notice something odd about the group of people who rode after they did. "Wonder what's with them?" Mina asks, noting their walking in a slow and lifeless manner. "That ride must've scared life out of them," Serena sarcastically comments. They make it to the 'Samurai'; a high-speed inverted roller coaster. They hop in the inverted cars and await the operator to throw the switch. The time comes rather quickly, as the operator hits the switch without warning to send the screaming thrill seekers accelerating to 70mph in 4 seconds and up a hill. As the coaster tops the hill, Amy hides her face behind her hands, then lets go to grab a hold of the bars in front of her, 'If only I had a man to hold onto for this ride.' Her eyes enlarge to twice their normal size and her teeth clinch tightly as the inverted roller coaster nose-dives toward the ground at blazing speed, giving the riders the sense of a near crash-landing. 'No wonder Lita hates this ride,' Serena thinks to herself as the roller coaster swings around a turn at breakneck velocity. After 90 seconds of pure white knuckles and nearly ground down teeth, Amy sits in the car after the ride ends, pale as bleached whites. She calms down seconds later and slowly steps out of the roller coaster. Serena and Mina tend to her and walk away from the ride. "Amy, are you all right?" Serena asks. "You looked terrified throughout the ride," says Mina. "Actually," Amy says, regaining much of her pride, "I needed that rush of fear." "Amy, that doesn't sound like you at all," Serena says, half- dumbfounded. "No, I just..." Amy says, trying to defend her argument. The group walks by the 'Runaway Train' again to notice more people leaving the ride as if it scared the wits out of them. "What a bunch of pansies," says Mina, "Amy wasn't even that lifeless after riding the 'Samurai'. Suddenly, hordes of people run from an indoor ride, screaming like banshees. "FIRE!" a man and a woman scream. The girls look in that direction to see smoke billowing from one of the tame theme rides. "Let's investigate," says Serena. "And I'll douse the fire," Amy adds as the girls find an empty alcove and pull out their pins. "Venus Power!" "Mercury Power!" "Moon Prism Power!" The newly transformed Sailor Scouts bolt out of the alcove and where the smoke is emanating. They enter the indoor ride to find much of the interior engulfed in flames. Surprisingly, none of the walls or any of the props are either charred or damaged. "This is unusual," says Sailor Venus. "Yeah," Sailor Moon agrees, "It's like this fire is an illusion." "I'll douse that fire," says Sailor Mercury, "Mercury Bubbles, Blast!" She fills the room with a fine mist, extinguishing the blaze in almost an instant. "I must've been just an illusion," says Sailor Mercury. Suddenly, a beam of fire appears out of nowhere and strikes Sailor Mercury in the side, sending her into a wall with pulverizing force. "That sure wasn't an illusion," says Sailor Venus. "Look, over there," says Sailor Moon, pointing at a familiar figure in the distance. It is there where Tuxedo Inferno stands in a field of fire, holding an odd looking object in his hand. Sailor Mercury recovers from her trip to the wall and sees what the other scouts are seeing. She dons her visor and gets a good look at the object in his hand. She walks up to the scouts to discuss her readings. "What's he holding in his hand?" Sailor Venus asks. "It's only a vibrator," she says fearlessly, "You know, like the ones people use to speak when they're unable to use their voice." "Ha! Tuxedo Inferno must have laryngitis," Sailor Moon gloats, poking fun at Tuxedo Inferno's apparent vocal problem. In response, he puts the vibrator up to his throat and turns it on. "YOUR HUMOR DOES NOT IMPRESS ME," Tuxedo Inferno says in a monotone vibrator-induced voice, "NOW WATCH AS I REALLY SET THIS PLACE ON FIRE!" He removes the vibrator from his throat and slowly raises his arms, calling upon the power of the fire spirits to set the inside of the building ablaze. Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter arrive outside the ride, where smoke once again billows from. They cover their faces, close their eyes, and walk inside. After getting by most of the smoke, they uncover their faces to see their friends on one side of the burning building, and Tuxedo Inferno on the other side. He looks over to the entering duo and places the vibrator on his neck. "SAILOR JUPITER, SAILOR MARS, WATCH AS I BURN YOUR SO CALLED FRIENDS," says Tuxedo Inferno, then removes the vibrator. "What's with the vibrator?" says Sailor Mars. "Must be a Negaverse intimidation trick," Sailor Jupiter deduces, "or maybe he just lost his voice." "I won't let you get your scorching hands on us," says Sailor Moon as she and the other two scouts in her group split up. "YOU'RE MORE RESISTANT THAT I THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE," says Tuxedo Inferno, again using his vibrator, "BUT YOUR RESISTANCE IS AN UTTER USELESS GESTURE." He replaces his vibrator and draws his flame sword. To even up the battle, he separates Sailor Moon's group from Sailor Mars' with intense walls of fire. Titanius arrives in the burning building and stands right by Tuxedo Inferno's side. "Take Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter," says Tuxedo Inferno, without the vibrator, "I'll take these 3." Sailor Moon and Sailor Venus look at him in shock, with eyes popping and mouths hanging open. "He didn't use his vibrator," they say in unison. "I told you he used it as some way to scare us," Sailor Jupiter says to Sailor Mars as she ducks from one of Titanius' attacks. Titanius draws his sword and teleports right behind Sailor Jupiter, "Pathetic Sailor Brat," Titanius says as he kicks her in the back, knocking her within inches of the intense flames. Sailor Mars blasts him in the side with a ball of fire, sending him through the wall of fire and on the other side. He recovers quickly and teleports back inside the bounds of the fire, where Sailor Mars awaits his next move. "Persistent, aren't you," says Sailor Mars as she clasps her hands together and points her fingers at Titanius, "Mars Fire, Ignite!" She sends a deadly ball of fire at Titanius, as if the heat from Tuxedo Inferno's fire weren't bad enough. Titanius dodges the fire and raises his sword, causing it to glow a bright purple. "Your childish tricks are no match for me. I hope Tuxedo Inferno is satisfied with me," says Titanius. To Sailor Mars' surprise, he turns and fires a beam of dark energy at Sailor Jupiter, knocking her through the fire, scorching her sailor suit, and into a wall, unconscious. Meanwhile, Tuxedo Inferno takes it to Sailor Moon and Sailor Venus like an enraged wolf taking to a couple of sheep. "Venus Crescent Beam, Smash!" In a desperation move, Sailor Venus fires a beam of light at Tuxedo Inferno, hitting him square in the chest and knocking him back with authority. Tuxedo Inferno gets up, only to receive a good kick in the face from Sailor Moon, putting him back on the ground. "Inferno Hands..." Tuxedo Inferno engulfs his hands in flames as Sailor Moon moves in for another attack, "...of Fire!" He jumps up suddenly and thrusts his burning hands at Sailor Moon, sending her flying into a wall. He then retrieves his sword and goes after Sailor Venus. He observes the battlefield to see Titanius taking to Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter lying against a wall unconscious, Sailor Mercury struggling to get up near a fire barrier, and Sailor Venus rushing at him at full speed. He dodges her rush and pulls out his vibrator. "YOU WANT TO DANCE?" he asks, using the vibrator, "THEN LET'S DANCE." He replaces his vibrator and his sword. "Inferno Fire, Dance!" At the speed of light, he dances around Sailor Venus, setting the area around her ablaze and striking her with his flaming moves, knocking her unconscious. 'That's 2 down,' he thinks to himself, 'Now to finish Sailor Moon off.' He draws his sword again and walks toward the struggling Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon looks up to see a field of flames surrounding her and Tuxedo Inferno with his cape waving and his flame sword at his side. He takes his vibrator and places it on his neck. "NOW I CALL UPON THE POWER OF THE FIRE SPIRITS," he says as he raises his sword, "SAILOR MOON, YOUR TIME HAS COME TO BURN IN DISHONOR." He removes the vibrator as flames begin collecting into his sword. With little energy left to spare, Sailor Moon struggles with all her might to get up and stop him. "Flame Sword, Strike!" Tuxedo Inferno chants as he swings his blade with all his might, striking Sailor Moon with the power of fire, knocking her out cold and burning her. "NOOO," Sailor Mars yells at the sight of her friend losing her battle to Tuxedo Inferno. Just then, Titanius blasts her with a wave of dark energy, causing lightning to surround her body as she falls unconscious. Tuxedo Inferno walks over to Titanius, "Is the mission complete?" "Yes it is," Titanius answers, "We've gathered much energy and managed to defeat all 5 Sailor Scouts. That was a great bit of work. I must leave now. I'll meet you at headquarters." Titanius walks through the fire and out of the building. Meanwhile, Sailor Moon runs completely out of energy and transforms back into her civilian form, still unconscious and a little charred. Tuxedo Inferno looks around the burning building to access the damage. He finds only 3 of the scouts, and his sister's friend Serena lying against a wall only a few feet from a fire. 'How'd she end up in here?' he asks himself as he rushes over to her. "C'mon Serena," he says, picking her limp body up, "I'll get you out of here." She wakes up to find herself in her enemy's arms. Her first thought is to scream for help, hoping somebody will come to her aid. But she is too low on energy and her voice to faint. Tuxedo Inferno carries her through the walls of flames and out of the building. Spectators watch as he carries her some distance from the burning building and lies her down by a bench. "There Serena, you're safe now," says Tuxedo Inferno as he turns to run back inside the building to look for others, thinking Serena wasn't alone. "Thank... you..." Serena gasps. 'Now why would Tuxedo Inferno save me?' she wonders. Tuxedo Inferno walks back into the burning building to find the fire weaker and only Sailor Venus left lying unconscious. 'The others must've made out,' he thinks to himself. With no one left he walks around the burning room, looking for any of Serena's friends. He returns to his starting point to find Sailor Venus gone. 'Somebody must've rescued her,' he thinks to himself. "That was very noble of you to save that girl," a voice says. Tuxedo Inferno turns around to find Tuxedo Mask at the entrance. "But you still use your powers in the name of evil, seeing that you use them against the protectors of love and justice. Saving Serena may have been noble, but you can't live in both worlds, Tuxedo Inferno. You can't do good deeds to one, and evil deeds to another. Good day!" Tuxedo Mask disappears in the daylight, leaving Tuxedo Inferno in the burning building only with his thoughts. Tuxedo Inferno leaves the burning building, where spectators cheer him on as he leaves the scene in a flash. Negaverse Headquarters... Titanius sits in his chamber, wearing his skin-tight black shirt, polishing his armor and awaiting Tuxedo Inferno's arrival. Just before he applies some turtle wax on a singed area of his armor, there is a knock at his door. "Enter," he says as he begins polishing out the scorched spot. The door opens as Tuxedo Inferno, without his hat and mask, walks inside. "Ah, Tuxedo Inferno. Please, make yourself at home," says Titanius, waving him inside. "That was some of the best fighting I've seen in you yet. Queen Beryl would be very proud of you," says Titanius, "And your use of a vibrator made for great intimidation." "Yeah, too bad it didn't work very well since they weren't very impressed with my showing of evil," says Tuxedo Inferno. "At least we completed the mission and showed those Sailor Brats the true power of the Negaverse," says Titanius, looking on the bright side. "And it's good that you actually went along with your plans," Tuxedo Inferno says in a derogatory manner, "That was the best I've seen you do since you liberated me. Queen Beryl would be proud of you too." "Now we stand as equals in battle," says Titanius. "You may work better than you used to, but I think you still change your battle tactics to often," Tuxedo Inferno points out, "One day, your sudden change of strategy will backfire and neither I nor the rest of the Negaverse won't be around to bail you out. Just remember that." "And you still have a long way to go in the Negaverse," Titanius argues back, "Remember, I used to be a champion of the Negaverse. Plus I'm a bounty hunter. I work well alone and don't often need the Negaverse to bail me out of any trouble." "And that's just it," says Tuxedo Inferno, "Unlike you, I don't remember anything about the Negaverse or being of it." Titanius opens his mouth, ready to argue back, then stops himself, "You've got a point. Like I said, you still have a long way to go." "What's the next mission and when?" Tuxedo Inferno asks. "Malachite's working on one right now," says Titanius, "I have a pager for you." Titanius hands him a realistic-looking pager, "I'll page you before the mission begins." "Thank you," says Tuxedo Inferno as he gets up and leaves Titanius' chamber. Titanius turns back to buffing out all the burn marks on his armor. Lita's apartment... "Now why are we having our scout meeting here," Mina asks as Lita slips her key into the doorknob. "Because Russell's home and we don't want him to know of our true identities," Raye answers as Lita unlocks the door and opens it. All 5 girls walk inside and take their seats on the 2 couches. "That was one tough battle," says Serena. "Yeah, the toughest battle we've had with that fire boy," Lita agrees. "That's only because Titanius actually fought by his side," says Amy. "Still, Tuxedo Inferno put up walls of fire as equalizers," says Raye, "and that kept us from helping each other." "And what was the deal with that vibrator of his?" Mina asks, "I heard his voice loud and clear when Titanius arrived." "Me too," says Lita. "Me three," Serena jumps in. "He must've been trying to scare us or something," Raye guesses, "That didn't work too well." "It's not the battle that's confusing me," says Serena, "It's the fact that after I lost my power, Tuxedo Inferno came and carried me out of the burning building. I just don't know how an evil person like him could go out of his way to rescue me." "And last week at the embassy ball, he advised me to get out of the ballroom before he attacked," Amy adds, "Like he didn't want me to be in the middle of all of it." "Now why would that Nega-Creep all of a sudden be a Good Samaritan?" Lita asks. "There must be some good left in him," says Serena. "I agree," says Amy, "That further proves my theory of Tuxedo Inferno fighting a battle within himself." "The question is how do we defeat him?" Mina asks. "Same way you defeat any other Nega-Punk," Lita answers. "We're gonna have to fight him alone," says Amy, "If Titanius gets involved, then it's gonna be an even harder battle." "It might just be that," says Raye, "They're fighting side-by-side again." "If by any chance Titanius or Malachite gets involved," Lita jumps in, "Then we'll just have to concentrate more on Tuxedo Inferno since he's our main threat." "He's a powerful warrior and manipulates fire with great skill," says Amy, "Even if we do concentrate on him, it'll still be a tough battle." "Then we'll just have to rely on luck against both him and Titanius," says Raye. She gets up from the couch and heads toward the door. "I gotta go home, Grandpa and all the other guys will be expecting soon. Bye Lita," Raye says as she opens the door and leaves. Serena, Amy, and Mina leave a minute later, a little upset that the Negaverse cut their Friday of fun at Dreamland short. "We can go back to Dreamland tomorrow," Mina suggests. "Sounds good to us," Serena and Amy say in unison. That night... Russell finds himself clothed in battle armor with his flame sword in his right hand. He stands in the middle of an immense battlefield. His first reaction is to find his princess, but all he sees are large groups of soldiers clashing swords with one another. In the distance, a man resembling someone from the Negaverse lies burned and unconscious in a distant. He looks behind him to see a familiar face. Sailor Mercury lies dead after an intense battle with the Negaverse general. With the general out, Russell turns to some other action, helping a man resembling Tuxedo Mask take care of some soldiers. "This isn't good Russell," says Tuxedo Mask, "We've lost too many of our forces compared to how many they lost." "Tell me about it," says Russell, "We've already lost 2 of the scouts." "Then let's make this a fight to the death." Tuxedo Mask and Russell together take it to the Negaverse Army, utterly destroying some of them. After destroying the Negaverse regiment, Russell hears screams. He turns to see another familiar face struggling with another Negaverse general after burning the rest of his troops. "Sailor Mars," yells as he runs to aid her, but is too late. The general knocks her 200 feet back with a devastating ball of energy. "NOOOO," he yells as runs to Sailor Mars. Her red sailor suit is badly burned. He runs his fingers along her face. Without a doubt, she is dead. Russell holds her tightly, with thoughts of losing the very people who were dear to him running through his head. Tuxedo Mask watches as Russell lays Sailor Mars to rest and kneels over her body for a few minutes. Russell turns his head to the general and lowers his eyebrows at him, then gets up and begins walking towards him. His eyes begin to glow a bright orange. "You killed my friends," he says in a deep, dark voice, as if the fire spirits possessed him. "You low down, good for nothing, sorry excuse for a Negaverse general. You killed my friends. And for that, I WILL BURN YOU." His hands engulf as he walks towards the general. Darien watches as Russell goes from burning hands to an aura of fire. Darien swiftly turns as another general, who somehow survived Russell's furious attack, jumps at him. Darien draws his sword and clashes swords as Russell's entire body turns into fire. He has become fire by his will. He launches balls of fire at the general, missing half the time, but knocking his sword from his hand. He gets into his face and slowly raises his arms. After that, he explodes in a furious ball of flames, burning the Negaverse general and sending him flying hundreds of feet. Thunder wakes Russell up seconds before his alarm goes off, a storm brewing outside. 'Did I really fight alongside Tuxedo Mask and the Sailor Scouts?' he asks himself, 'I never had this dream before.' There is a knock at the door. Russell rubs the sleep out of his eyes and struggles to get up and out of bed. The knocking sound continues. "Yes, yes, hang on a sec," Russell says in a half-tired tone. He proceeds to the door and opens it. "Raye." "You look like you've seen a ghost," says Raye, commenting on Russell's pale and sweaty face. "Yeah, I had another dream," Russell replies. "Really, what about?" Raye asks. "Maybe later," Russell replies and closes his door in Raye's face. She knocks on his door again. Russell turns back and cracks his door open. "Russell, breakfast will be ready in a few minutes," says Raye. "Alright, let me make my way to the shower," says Russell as he closes the door. After Raye leaves, Russell peeks out the door and takes a quick look around, then walks out of his room in his birthday suit. He quietly sneaks toward the bathroom. Yuuichiro walks out of his room and gets a good peep show, but only for a split second before Russell dashes into the bathroom like an Olympic sprinter. "You go Russell," Yuuichiro yells. "Shaddap Yuuichiro," Russell yells from the bathroom. He turns on the shower and hops in, feeling such great relief from the comfortably hot water. He thinks of his dream. 'I seriously never had this dream before,' Russell thinks to himself. 'I remember seeing Tuxedo Mask, I've seen a man resembling him numerous times. But now I fight him.' He then moves further on in his dream, 'I must've fought side by side with the Sailor Scouts, but for how long before the Negaverse liberated me. And what's this connection I had with them? When Sailor Mars went down, I got my revenge on the general who killed her. Now I'm even more confused than I was when I was liberated.' Soon, there is a knock at the door. "Russell, breakfast is ready," Raye calls through the door. Russell turns the shower off, "I'll be there in a few minutes. He hops out of the shower and dries himself off rather quickly. He then wraps the towel around his waist and opens the door to walk out of the bathroom. He unwraps the towel from his waist after walking into his room when something hits him. "Oh no, my rubber ducky," says Russell, remembering that he had left his rubber ducky in the shower. He swings the door open and runs to the bathroom, still bare body naked. He retrieves his rubber ducky and then takes a peek outside to find the hallway empty. He dashes through the hallway at light-speed and into his room. Luckily, Yuuichiro, Grandpa, and even Raye didn't even see his lovely display of nudity. "Next time, I bring a towel to the bathroom," Russell tells himself, jokingly, "I'd rather be in one of Raye's dresses than butt-naked in the halls." "You're not wearing my dresses," Raye yells from the living room, "Besides, they wouldn't fit you." Minutes later, Russell walks out of his room, fully clothed this time, wearing a black T-shirt and a pair of black wide-leg jeans. "Did you find your rubber ducky?" Raye mocks, giggling. "Heh, heh, heh, yes I found my rubber ducky," Russell mocks right back. He takes a seat at the dinning room table, where Yuuichiro sits, already halfway done with his meal. Halfway through his meal, the pager that Titanius had given Russell goes off. "I didn't know you had a ager," says Yuuichiro. "Yeah, just in case Darien, Daniel, or any of my soccer buddies called me," Russell responds. He doesn't even bother to look at it since he knows it's Titanius, probably with a mission. He excuses himself from the table, making sure to clean up before leaving to see what it is Titanius wants. He then heads into his room and jumps out the window. With no one watching, he uses his obsidian jewel ring to transform into Tuxedo Inferno. He then hits a button on his pager, signaling Titanius to teleport him to the headquarters. Negaverse Headquarters... Tuxedo Inferno knocks on the door to Titanius' chamber. "Come in Tuxedo Inferno," Titanius says through the door, anticipating Tuxedo Inferno's arrival. He opens the door and walks into Titanius' medieval world. "You paged?" says Tuxedo Inferno. "Yes," Titanius replies, "Malachite's drawn up a mission. We need to do some energy gathering to provide us with a stepping stone." "A stepping stone?" Tuxedo Inferno asks. "Queen Beryl's term," Titanius explains, "She's saying it'll put us a step closer to freeing the Negaverse from its prison. Malachite thought the park would be an excellent place to gather energy since there are a lot of people enjoying the weekend there." "When do we start?" Tuxedo Inferno asks. "We leave now while the getting's good," Titanius answers, "And Malachite's coming with us too." "Now why is Malachite coming, besides the fact that he drew up the mission?" Tuxedo Inferno questions. "He wants to... personally oversee this mission," Titanius answers, "I know why you ask. I don't like this either." Titanius and Tuxedo Inferno leave the chamber and head toward the soldier's hall. They open the door, with some of the soldiers cowering at the side of Tuxedo Inferno and others snapping to attention, ready to receive their orders. "We're gonna be using a few soldiers for this mission. Malachite's got a youma for us to use as well," Titanius explains, "The soldiers will round up the people while the youma drains away." "Sounds good to me," says Tuxedo Inferno, 'And what if those scouts show up? I'd better not tell him about my dream. He might suspect me.' Titanius orders a few soldiers to join him, while Tuxedo Inferno draws his flame sword and tosses it in the air. "Flame Sword, Dance!" His sword flies at the cowering soldiers, dancing around them at light speed. Tuxedo Inferno calls his sword back and swings it around with great skill, "Inferno Blaze, Wall!" He swings his sword, sending a wave of fire at the weakened soldiers, disintegrating them. "TRAITOR!" Titanius yells, drawing his sword. "They were cowards," Tuxedo Inferno explains, "They are of no use to us." Titanius sheathes his sword and credits Tuxedo Inferno for ridding the Negaverse of a band or cowardly soldiers who would've fled in actual combat. The group heads to the teleporter, where Malachite awaits. They all step into the teleporter and teleport out of the headquarters and to the park. Park... Serena and Lita walk the trail by the lake, enjoying the Saturday morning breeze after the storm had passed. Flocks of ducks fly by in front of them and make their landing in the lake. "So Lita, you want to come to Dreamland with me, Mina, and Amy?" "I'm sorry Serena, I can't. I'm pretty busy most of the day," Lita replies. "Oh well. Doesn't Russell have a soccer game today?" Serena asks. "It's Azabu Tech's week off this week. They play Okinawa next week," Lita answers. "I oughta go to one of his games," says Serena, "I hear he and Daniel are really good." "They are," Lita agrees, "For a freshman, Russell's really good. You gotta remember that he was an All-Stater and played in the post season all-star game for his last 3 years in high school." "Didn't he say he wanted to be on the Japanese soccer team and win the World Cup?" Serena asks. "It's one of his biggest dreams," says Lita. They stop and notice some armored men chasing groups of people about the park. "What's going on?" Serena asks. "Look, over there," Lita says, pointing to a youma draining the energy of whole groups of people. "A youma, doesn't the Negaverse ever give up," says Serena. They hide under a pavilion and pull out their pins. "Jupiter Power!" "Moon Prism Power!" They transform into Sailor Moon and Sailor Jupiter. Sailor Jupiter immediately rushes at the soldiers, while Sailor Moon stands in the pavilion and yawns. She pulls out her communicator, "Scouts, the Negaverse is at the park draining people's energy. We need you." She replaces her communicator, grabs her wand and rushes out. Titanius finds that Sailor Jupiter has arrived. "Looks like one of the Sailor Scouts have arrived," says Titanius. He sees that she's taking the soldiers on like a professional wrestler. "Tuxedo Inferno, take care of the Sailor Scouts, I'll protect the youma," Titanius orders. Tuxedo Inferno hesitates, dwelling on his recent dream. "NOW!" Titanius barks. Tuxedo Inferno reacts almost instantly and rushes at Sailor Jupiter. Sailor Moon emerges from the pavilion only to see Sailor Jupiter face to face with Tuxedo Inferno. "Tuxedo Inferno, he must be behind all this," says Sailor Moon. She looks to her right to find that she's wrong as she sees Titanius busy controlling the youma. "Sailor Jupiter, get Titanius," Sailor Moon orders, "I'll take care of Tuxedo Inferno." Sailor Jupiter huffs as she complies with Sailor Moon's order and rushes at Titanius. Sailor Moon stares Tuxedo Inferno straight in the face, with an angry look on her face. "On behalf of the moon, I will right wrongs and triumph over evil, and that means you," Sailor Moon says, doing her usual pointing pose. "Inferno Hands..." Tuxedo Inferno engulfs his hands in flames, "...Of Fire!" He thrusts both hands forward, sending Sailor Moon flying into the branches of a nearby tree. He advances toward the tree, only to have Sailor Moon drop on him from above, knocking him down. After landing him on the ground, Sailor Moon back-flips off of him and lands like a true gymnast. Tuxedo Inferno recovers, only to see Sailor Moon twirling her tiara, "Moon Tiara, Magic!" She launches her tiara at him. Before he could react, the tiara circles him like a vulture around a dead carcass. Before he could jump out of the way, the tiara strikes him in the chest, sending him slamming into the tree. The other scouts arrive to see Sailor Moon engaged in battle with Tuxedo Inferno and Sailor Jupiter wrestling with the youma. Titanius is nowhere to be seen. They all run up to Sailor Moon. "I've got him," says Sailor Moon. "Nonsense," Sailor Mars argues, "Tuxedo Inferno waxed you in yesterday battle." "Go get Titanius," Sailor Moon orders. "He's hot here," Sailor Mars argues back. Sailor Moon looks around to see Sailor Jupiter and the youma, but no Titanius. "Then help Sailor Jupiter," Sailor Moon orders. Sailor Mars and Sailor Mercury run off to help Sailor Jupiter, while Sailor Venus stays behind. "No way, Sailor Moon," she says, "You're my friend, and I won't let you take Tuxedo Inferno on alone." Tuxedo Inferno grabs the sides of his head at the sight of all 5 Sailor Scouts. Images of him fighting alongside the Sailor Scouts flash in his head. 'If I fought alongside them, why does the Negaverse want me to fight against them,' he thinks to himself. Just as he gets his concentration back, a beam hits him in the back, knocking him down and causing him to slide, stopping right at Sailor Moon's feet. 'How can't they remember me when remember seeing them in my distant past," Tuxedo Inferno thinks to himself. Sailor Moon fires a beam of light at him, sending Tuxedo Inferno flying into a bench. Sailor Venus jumps toward him, landing 30 feet from the bench where he lies. 'Even so, I must defend myself,' he thinks to himself as he recovers. He charges up for another attack, but Sailor Venus beats him to the gun, "Venus Crescent Beam, Smash!" She blasts him with her crescent beam, pushing him back to where Sailor Moon stands. "Face it Tuxedo Inferno, you may have done a noble act yesterday, saving that girl from your fire, but you still do evil. On behalf of the Moon, I will punish you!" says Sailor Moon. She points her crescent wand at him and blasts him with a beam of fluorescent light, sending him through a gazebo and knocking him unconscious. "Now to help the other scouts with the youma," she says, waving Sailor Venus over. They run to where the other scouts have already weakened the youma. "Tuxedo Inferno's out of commission," says Sailor Moon, "This youma's ours." She removes her tiara and twirls it as the other scouts prepare to jump in. "Moon Tiara, Magic!" "Mercury Bubbles, Blast!" "Mars Fire, Ignite!" "Jupiter Thunder, Crash!" "Venus Crescent Beam, Smash!" With their combined powers, the scouts strike the weakened youma in a vital spot, surrounding it with the combined energy and destroying it, leaving only a puff of smoke. Suddenly, a wave of dark energy hits them from behind, throwing them quite a ways. Sailor Mars and Sailor Moon get up to see Titanius with his black hair and cape waving in the wind. "You Sailor Brats," Titanius insults, "I made Tuxedo Inferno, and you defeat him. Oh well, he's still got a long way to go. Then you go off and defeat my youma. You're gonna pay for that." Titanius raises his hands above him and forms a large ball of dark energy. He then throws it at the scouts, spreading them out throughout some of the park. Mina recovers and charges up for an attack, only to be on the receiving end of Titanius' beam of dark energy. The beam propels her like a jet through the air. With Sailor Venus out of the park, Titanius concentrates on the next scout to recover, Sailor Jupiter. "I'll take you all down, one at a time," Titanius says as he holds his arm out in front of him. He then fires a dark purple bolt of lightning, sending Sailor Jupiter smashing into a tree with such great force, that it leaves a 6-inch-deep imprint of her in it. Suddenly, a white beam strikes his shoulder, sending him spinning as he falls to the ground. He recovers seconds later, half-dazed from the attack. Sailor Venus stands among the group again. "How'd you recover so quickly," Titanius yells at the sight of Sailor Venus. He fires a chain from his wrist and wraps it around Sailor Venus. Through it, he sends an electrical pulse, electrocuting Sailor Venus and knocking her unconscious. Sailor Mars makes it to her feet as Titanius retracts his electrical chain. She runs toward him at high speed and throws a fiery punch at him, only to be blocked by a force field Titanius had put up. Her attack bounces off the force field, causing her to fall on her back. She immediately jumps to her feet and decides to use her fire ignite rather than a physical attack. Just as she clasps her hands together, Titanius blasts her with a powerful swirling beam of dark energy, causing to fly a great distance. She lands next to where Tuxedo Inferno lies. He recovers from the beating he had received from Sailor Moon. He finds Sailor Mars right next to him, barely coming to and finally falling unconscious. He takes a look at her lifeless body, figuring it was Titanius' work. Suddenly, images of the fallen Sailor Mars from his recent dream flash in his mind. "Go ahead, Tuxedo Inferno," Titanius' voice calls. He turns to the origin of the voice to see Titanius approaching him and Sailor Mars. Then, an image of the Negaverse general who killed Sailor Mars in his dream flashes in his mind. "What are waiting for?" says Titanius, "Finish her." He turns back to Sailor Mars. Images of The Negaverse General blasting Sailor Mars with a powerful ball of energy flash in his head. He knows now what the dream means. He engulfs his hands in flames, looks at Titanius with his eyebrows lowered, though concealed by his mask, and stomps toward him. He grasps Titanius' throat and squeezes, then lifts him up off the ground. Titanius looks at him in shock, and in pain from Tuxedo Inferno's burning hand. Tuxedo Inferno draws back his other flaming hand and gives Titanius a powerful blow, sending him on a ride. The conscious scouts watch on as Tuxedo Inferno turns his powers on Titanius. He walks toward him as Titanius struggles to get up from that powerful blow. "What do you think you're doing?" Titanius questions. Tuxedo Inferno reaches behind his back and pulls out his vibrator and places it on his neck. "YOU LIED TO ME. I WAS NEVER OF THE NEGAVERSE. YOU KILLED SAILOR MARS AND THE OTHER SCOUTS THOSE MANY YEARS AGO. ON BEHALF OF THE PLANET MARS, I WILL BURN YOU," he says in a monotone vibrator- induced voice. He removes the vibrator from his neck and rips his mask from his face. His eyes glow bright orange as he slowly moves his arms to his sides, engulfing the area around him in flames "Inferno, FURY!!!" He waves his arm at Titanius, sending a massive cyclone of fire at him, covering an area equal to that of a pro football stadium plus it's parking lot. After the cyclonic inferno clears, Titanius lies unconscious after experiencing hell itself. Tuxedo Inferno stands, extremely weak from both his battle with Sailor Moon and the use of his most powerful attack. Suddenly, a scroll hits him in his back, which is just enough to knock him unconscious. Malachite appears right next to Titanius' body, looking directly at the scouts, all 5 standing now. "How pitiful of him to turn his back on us," he says, "One day, Sailor Scouts, you'll pay for this." He and Titanius teleport away, leaving the weak and unconscious Tuxedo Inferno for dead, thinking the Sailor Scouts will finish him off. Sailor Moon approaches him. Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Mars hold her back. "Urgh, let me go," she yells, trying desperately to free herself from their grasp. "What are you doing, Serena," Sailor Mars asks. "I'm gonna check on Tuxedo Inferno, now will you please let me go," says Sailor Moon. "Reality check," Sailor Jupiter says, knocking on Sailor Moon's head as if it were a door, "he's evil inside and out." "Is that why he got Amy out of the ballroom before he struck? Is that why he rescued me from the burning building at Dreamland yesterday? Is that why he turned on Titanius and helped us defeat him?" Sailor Moon argues, throwing Sailor Mars off one arm and wiggling out of Sailor Jupiter's grasp. "There's good in him. I know it. Raye, your anti-evil scroll might've helped out a little," she says. She walks over to Tuxedo Inferno and trains her crescent wand at him, "Moon Healing, Activation!" She fires a beam of pure light at Tuxedo Inferno, surrounding his body in an aura of it. Suddenly, an evil spirit emerges from him, screaming in pain. "They brainwashed him," says Sailor Venus, "They kidnapped him and they drilled hatred into his head. They had him thinking he truly was of the Negaverse. He was good and they made him evil." "That completely proves my theory," says Sailor Mercury, "The Negaverse was the cause of all that negative energy within him, the conflict within himself, and his hatred for us. He must've overcome that battle within himself and realized he was being played like a deck of cards." "No wonder the Great Fire said 'The Negaverse dwelled in him'," Sailor Mars realizes, "It did, literally. And that's why I didn't get anything on him in my past fire readings. He was on our side the whole time before the Negaverse got a hold of him." "I was wrong about him," Sailor Jupiter admits, "He is a protector of good. But I was right in saying that the Negaverse was behind all of this. They knew we didn't trust him and they exploited that mistrust, turning his powers of fire against us." The evil spirit vanishes after the exposure to Sailor Moon's healing light. "Ugh... umm..." Tuxedo Inferno grunts as he struggles to his feet, feeling woozy from the entire ordeal. He turns to find that Sailor Moon was the one who healed him. 'This sense of evil within me is gone,' Tuxedo thinks to himself as he looks about, 'But I have done so much harm.' He then takes a look at the Sailor Scouts, 'And especially to the Sailor Scouts. I doubt they'll ever forgive me for the pain I have caused them.' "Tuxedo Inferno," says Sailor Moon, "Thank you for helping us..." She smiles at him, "...once again." "I don't deserve any thanks," says Tuxedo Inferno, "I've caused you so much pain, even to the point to where I nearly killed some of you." "Don't blame yourself," says Sailor Moon, "Queen Beryl had you brainwashed. You had little control over your actions." "I've done so much evil," says Tuxedo Inferno as he turns his back to the scouts, "I'll understand if you don't ever forgive me. I don't deserve it." "Wait, where are you going?" Sailor Mars asks, running towards him. Tuxedo Inferno turns to the Sailor Scouts, "I'm leaving. I've tainted my reputation, dishonored you, and myself. I'm hanging my cape up for good." He turns sadly walks away. Sailor Moon runs up to him and places her hand on his shoulder, "Tuxedo Inferno." He stops, waiting to hear what she wants. "I stand for love and justice," she says, "and part of that love is forgiving one another for the times we fall short, the times we do wrong, even the times we hurt each other." Tuxedo Inferno turns around to face Sailor Moon's rather sad-looking face, as if she's feeling his sadness and guilt. "I forgive you. Please, Tuxedo Inferno, don't leave," she pleads, "we could use your help, as we always have." Tuxedo Inferno thinks to himself for a moment, 'True love, I remember some of my dreams now. I remember this girl; oh she's so beautiful. She is worth it. She's worth staying Tuxedo Inferno.' Tuxedo Inferno smiles, "Thank you, Sailor Moon. You and the Sailor Scouts are truly legendary." He turns and begins his trek home. "So you're staying?" Sailor Moon asks, stopping him again. He turns his head, "Yes. If you need help, I'll be there. But always be brave, and be strong." "I would like to know who you really are someday," says Sailor Moon. "You know," Tuxedo Inferno says, turning to her, "I don't even know who I am. I do know I'm not of the Negaverse. But one day, I'll figure out who I really am, and when that happens..." He turns and walks toward home. "You'll know." A wall of fire forms around him and Tuxedo Inferno walks through it. When it disappears, he is nowhere to be seen. "He sure knows how to make an exit," says Sailor Moon, "I have to ask Luna about him sometime." "Didn't she say she didn't remember him?" Sailor Jupiter asks. "Oh," Sailor Moon says, remembering what Luna had said about him. "At least we have one less Nega-Creep to worry about," says Sailor Mars. "And one more friend," Sailor Venus adds. "Come, let's go home," says Sailor Moon, "Mina, Amy, and I are going back to Dreamland to pick up where we left off before the Negaverse rudely interrupted." The scouts walk under an empty pavilion and transform back into their civilian forms. They then emerge from the pavilion, acting as if they had just gotten out of their hiding places. They say their good byes and make their ways home. Temple... Russell arrives home after the morning's ordeal. He sits on the couch and takes a look at his obsidian jewel ring. He finds nothing on it, the R with the Mars symbol engraved under the jewel. He rubs the jewel, treasuring the ring passed down by his father, and from all the Hinos before him. 'Queen Beryl defaced my ring,' he thinks to himself, 'But she'll get what's coming to her someday.' Minutes later, the front door opens. He looks up to see Raye walking inside. He smiles at her and gets up. "Russell," she says, with a concerned look on her face. Russell only brightens his smile and extends his arms, "Come here, Raye." "Oh Russell," she whimpers, running to his open arms. Russell catches her as they embrace. "I'm so sorry for this whole week," he says, "I was such a jerk." "You know, I heard Sailor Moon say this once," says Raye, "She stands for love and justice, and part of that love is forgiveness." "I've heard her say that too," Russell responds. He then lets go of Raye and shows her his ring. "You took the paint off your ring," she says. 'Yeah,' he thinks to himself, 'After Sailor Moon healed me, it just came right off.' He embraces her again, "I love you, sis." "I love you too, bro," says Raye, 'He's back to his old self again.' That night... Russell finds himself in front of a majestic palace, unlike the one he often sees in his dreams. He looks to his right to find the very girl in most of his dreams at his side, with her arms wrapped around his. He walks her to the Palace steps. "Well," he says, uncertain of what to say. She only places her finger over her lips with a "Shhh." She kisses him and says, "I really enjoyed tonight." They sit down on the steps, holding hands. "I requested the music and the sound and light effects for a special someone when I found that person." "And I happened to be that special someone," he responds. "When I saw you, I remembered who you were and I remembered my feelings for you," she explains. "To tell you the truth..." he pauses for a moment, "...I've really never been good about sharing feelings. But, I had feelings for you from the moment that I saw you back at the ball." They draw each other close and passionately, deeply kiss. "It's late. You'd better get inside," says Russell. They get up and walk towards the door. "When can I see you again?" the girl asks. "My friend has told me about her 'Muffin' and his sword fights with you. You're a great fighter," she says, smiling, "And you're also very smart." "Thanks. Day after is fine," he says, returning her smile. They kiss for while before he lets her go for the night. "I love you, Russell." "I love you too," as he walks down the stairs. The girl walks into the large doorway, then looks back to Russell, looking at her. She smiles, blows him a kiss, then walks inside, out of sight. Russell continues down the stairs and towards home. ------------------------------end of chapter 3------------------------- Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. ~ Ephesians 4:31-32 (NIV) This is a very true verse in the Bible. It very much applies to the very end of that last battle scene. I swear this is my longest fanfic yet, longer than my last 3 combined. I'm so glad to have finally finished this fanfic. Anyway, how'd y'all like that turn of events? Tuxedo Inferno turns on Titanius after he hurts Sailor Mars. It's odd how Russell's dreams of his distant past influence him in the real world. So, he's back to normal, the scouts trust him again, and Titanius is gonna be pretty ticked off at him for turning against him. So, I'ma see how they butt heads in future fanfics, y'ant to. I'ma also start on my next big project, and what a story it'll be. I'll also continue on my joint project with my friend Jupiter Star Warrior. If y'all have read it, I hope y'all like it. Expect Part 2 of "The Past And Present As One" in a couple weeks or so, since this is a 'joint' project. Well, hope y'all enjoyed this fanfic. E-mail me with comments, a'ight. Have fun Sailor Moon fans, Viper Inferno
